How to Clean Your Shower Head with Vinegar

• Prepare a vinegar solution: Fill a container or a plastic bag with undiluted white vinegar. This vinegar works well to break down the mineral buildup on your shower head.
• If possible, remove the shower head: Unscrew it from the pipe following the manufacturer’s instructions, which makes the cleaning process easier. If you can’t remove it, you can still clean it while attached.
• Soak the shower head:
  • If removed, fully submerge the shower head in a container filled with vinegar. Let it sit for about one to two hours.
  • If it remains attached, place the vinegar-filled plastic bag over the shower head. Secure the bag with a twist tie or rubber band to keep it in place. Allow it to soak for one to two hours.
• Clean gently: After soaking, use an old toothbrush or a small brush to scrub any remaining mineral deposits. The vinegar will have loosened the buildup, making it easier to remove.
• Rinse thoroughly: Remove the shower head from the vinegar (or remove the bag if it was attached) and rinse it well with water. This step ensures that no vinegar or loosened debris remains.
• Reattach and test: If you removed the shower head, screw it back onto the pipe. Then run water over it to rinse away any residual debris and to check that it’s working properly.

• Additional Tips:
  • A longer soak may be needed if the buildup is heavy.
  • If your shower head has many small holes that are clogged, gently use a toothpick on each hole after soaking to dislodge stubborn deposits.
