Gathering Your Supplies & Preparation

• Test a small area: Always try your cleaning solution on an inconspicuous spot of the faucet to be sure it won’t affect the finish.
• Mix a cleaning solution: Combine warm water with white vinegar. The vinegar gently breaks down the mineral deposits.
• Have a soft cloth and brush ready: Use a microfiber cloth and a soft-bristle brush or a non-abrasive sponge. These help remove buildup without scratching the chrome.

Cleaning Process

• Soak a cloth: Dip your microfiber cloth into the warm vinegar solution until it’s well saturated.
• Apply to the faucet: Wrap or place the wet cloth on areas with limescale and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes. This dwell time allows the vinegar to work on softening the deposits.
• Gently brush the deposits: Using your soft-bristle brush or sponge, lightly rub the limescale in circular motions. Avoid scrubbing too hard to protect the chrome’s finish.
• Wipe off residue: Remove the cloth and use a clean, damp microfiber cloth with warm water to wipe away the vinegar solution and loosened deposits.
• Dry thoroughly: Finish by buffing the faucet dry with a soft, dry cloth to help prevent new water spots from forming.
